The month of July was a very spontaneous one. I had no plans of going anywhere. In fact, I intentionally missed my one-way flight to Sydney (a promo fare I impulsively purchased last year) in order to save the saviiings. This trip came to be just because a family friend needed a favor: someone to hand-deliver important documents to Jakarta, Indonesia as soon as possible! Without hesitation, I volunteered, quickly packed my bags and flew out early the next morning. A real blessing in disguise! God’s full of those little surprises. There’s so much to thank Him for!
To add to the beauty of that, it was Ramadan – a week long holiday. So the Indonesian friends tagged me along on their vacation to Bali and then back to their city called Surabaya. After bittersweet goodbyes (they were like family already!), I spent a few more days wandering in Singapore and also met up with some local Instagrammers.
I booked Taiwan last year and the timing was great with it being a few days after I got back from SG. On the day of my flight, CNN reported that Super Typhoon Soudelour was also making its way to Taiwan, calling it “the strongest storm of the year.” No storm could stop me though–being the girl that runs toward danger!!
Here’s a little three-part cut of July’s trip.
