Photos from Parachute Home
Manila weather has arrived at its more erratic state this halfway point of the year. It’s sunny one hour, then stormy the next. Parachute Home, a chic bedding brand based in Venice Beach, invited me to share how to lighten up my bedroom for the warmer months. But these are suitable for brightening up gloomy days too. I couldn’t help but swoon while scrolling through their pieces and I love that they also seek to give back through an organization with a similar cause. Here are some tips along with my wishlist picks (white brick wall included):
1. Go all white. I’ve always stood by crisp white sheets, from pillowcases to duvet. It’s the obvious first step to instantly brighten up a room. I’ll then be switching it up to a dark gray when the Ber months hit. Percale Venice Set in White
2. Light a scented candle. Lavender helps ease tension and insomnia for a more restful sleep. The trick to mend my reversed body clock. Lavender Scented Candle
3. Add soft texture and contrast. Toss a light throw by the edge of your bed for added fluff and a relaxed look. Striped Cashmere Throw in Granite and Light Fog
Extra: Have fresh flowers or succulents at your bedside/windowsill. Having plant life nearby keeps me inspired when I wake up or sit at my desk.
Parachute has partnered with United Nations Foundation’s Nothing But Nets an organization that shares their interest in providing safe sleep to those in need. Every 60 seconds, a child dies from malaria in Africa. In areas with high coverage, bed nets can reduce the rates of malaria by 90%. Parachute sends one life-saving net for every Venice bedding set sold.
